Claire Leggett greeting card rose macaron

Just popping in with my business hat on to let you know that I’ve had some new greetings cards made up.

Claire Leggett greeting card tea and cake

These are all vintage teacup paintings with a little something on the side.

Professionally printed onto watercolour paper and blank inside, they are good enough as cards or for letter notes.

You can see bigger photos of the paintings themselves here and I’ll put the cards in my shop really soon.

I’ve also painted a new set of notebooks –  I was probably inspired by these dark nights we’re getting now.

claire leggett Mosesley art market sept 2015

It is Moseley Art Market, Birmingham this coming Saturday 31st Oct; if you’re local please come and enjoy the food and craft markets and (dare I say it) get ahead on your Christmas shopping!

This was my stand for the four days of the Patchings Art Festival 2015

We had terrific weather for the whole four days which is especially welcome when you want to keep the condensation down in a marquee full of art!

Visitors got to enjoy the sun, the band and the ice creams as well as watch us demonstrate our art.

I met some lovely people; both visitors (my Mum, Dad and Auntie made a surprise(ish) visit too) and other exhibitors and I had a really enjoyable time.

This is the painting I was working on whilst there – it isn’t finished yet as it’s more fun to chat to people so it was slower progress than in studio conditions  – but I will complete it soon.IMG_7448I like this photo as it captures a little of what I feel after four days away! A few good sleeps and a g & t tonight and I’ll be back on fine form again 😉

I feel like the Christmas countdown began this week. It just suddenly hit me that I needed to gear up for present giving, family hosting, people feeding – all whilst keeping one eye on the calendar for vet appointments, dentist, doctors, new window installation, the first-borns birthday – all whilst keeping my hands busy making creative Christmas gifts. Full on but good. Oh and I didn’t mention five more craft fairs I plan to do between now and Dec 20th. So here’s the two for this weekend coming. Saturday (above) Moseley – same place, different stall holders. And Sunday (below) which is a charity craft market in aid of Gumboots Foundation which promises to be good because Moorpool Hall is so cute and there will be vintage style tea and cakes and lots of good quality crafts. Come if you can.333

And a couple of things to share: Lilla Rodgers has recorded 5 short inspirational videos to keep us creatives on track. I don’t know about you but the short, dark days, the cold and general winding down of the year, all help my creative self morph into Eeyore, so these video’s came at the right time to help me finish the year with a creative sparkle. You can find them here.

And my lovely friend ‘Abigella’, has put me onto Susanna Conway’s December Reflections which nicely rounds out my feelings of frenetic activity by simply asking us to stop, look and photograph one thing each day as we gear up for Christmas and the New Year. Just as a way of pausing and punctuating the busyness and although there is a guide of daily photo prompts you don’t have to use it to join in- click here if you’d like more info and to sign up.

Ok – three weeks of ironing to catch up on now – ouch!
