I am keeping up with my monthly nature diary and here is the October page of my ‘Observational, observances of an obscure suburban’ book (phrase coined by Penny). I took a picture of it in front of the woods which have in part inspired this little project because those trees are looking absolutely gorgeous today with their changing foliage. I am feeling very lucky to have that view from my windows.

A lovely page! This is going to be a great way to record the year and look back on. Respect to you as I’ve lost count of the sketchbooks I’ve started and then let slip.
That is a wonderful view. I bet you get to see lots of birds. Wonderful spot for seeing the changing seasons. Do you paint the view? Monet painted the same views at different times, capturing light and colour. Also Klimt painted some terrific woods.

What lovely encouragement – thank you. Yes, painting the view is very much on the ‘to do’ list – it’s finding the time though!

Oh it looks so beautiful out of the window, how lovely to overlook the woods, can see why you moved! Is that a quince you painted? I love them to look at, but can never be bothered to make them into jelly or jam!

Cor, is that the view from your window, no wonder you were itching to get it all down in your OOOS book. Bet it will be filled with paintings in no time!

Oh Claire that picture brings back so many memories of my early twenties! And is Whitby where the Heartbeat series was filmed?
Have a lovely day, Barbara x
