This is my first finished project of 2012 and it feels like I’ve spent 2012 years knitting it!
In my head I like to think that I’m the type of woman who loves to knit in silence whilst contemplating the intricacies of the universe. In reality I like a simpl(ish) pattern that I can click-clack through while talking, listening or half watching something.

This pattern is quite a simple repeat of six rows but early on I made quite a few mistakes that meant I unpicked as many rows as I knitted because one lost stitch meant un-doing the whole block of pattern. From that moment on I could only work on it in a monastery type silence! Slow progress then…

So so so gorgeous. The next one will be so much quicker. I am impressed that your first project is finished before the end of January!

That’s a glorious scarf Claire! I love and hate knitting all at the same time, such an alien language to me requiring the utmost concentration at all times. I absolutely cannot watch television, talk, look up and knit!

It’s scrummy Claire, sumptuous lacy sqooshiness (not a word? well it is now!) to keep your neck warm! Love it!
Can I ask which Rowan yarn you used?

Your scarf looks gorgeous! How sad, though, that you couldn’t work on it without silence. I’ve had some crochet projects like that but I much prefer listening to an audiobook or having a movie in the background while I work. I just started another of my giant granny square blankets and it’s amazing how fast and easy that goes. I barely have to look. I could practically watch a movie with subtitles. If only all projects were that quick and easy.
